The house is situated in the heart of Orgiva, a bustling market town with lots of cafes, shops, bars and restaurants. So if you want to pass the days taking a coffee and people watching in the plaza, shop in any of the local artisan shops, or eat in one of the local delicious restaurants, you are only a few minutes walk away. In the summer the local open air pool is only 5 minutes walk down the hill. On Thursdays is the local market where you can buy a variety of local produce, arts and crafts.

The Alpujarras is a truly unique and beautiful  corner of Andalucia – and offers opportunities for bird watching, hiking, mountain biking and horse riding. The irrigation systems set up by the moors means there flora and fauna here are unlike anywhere else in Spain.  There is information about all these activities and more in the house. 

If you want to venture further afield there are good local transport links to the white villages of Pampaneira, Capileira and Bubión.  Granada is under an hour away where you can see the majestic Alhambra, or go skiing in the Sierra Nevada.  In the opposite direction you can be relaxing on  the beaches of the Costa Tropical in just over half an hour.
